Manchester Maccabi Krav Maga
We train students of all levels and ages (from age 5) in Self Defence techniques as created for and used by the Israeli Army.
 
Our instructors are qualified and insured and attend Instructor training seminars with the Israeli Krav Maga Association (IKMA) in Netanya, Israel. We offer the highest standards of tuition. There are grade opportunities to Black Belt level. We are also proud to be associated with Krav Maga Global (KMG) Instructor Golan Levy.

Self Defence classes for 5-13 year olds
 
Krav Maga is the most effective form of self defence and is used worldwide by Army, Police and Intelligence services including the FBI and CIA.
 
The Krav Maga system includes specially constructed programmes for children. Manchester Maccabi has been running Junior Krav Maga classes for 5-13 year olds since 1999.
 
Let your child learn self defence, improve their self-confidence, fitness and co-ordination. Junior Krav Maga is on Wednesdays at Maccabi from 6.00 - 7.15pm for ages 5-9 and 6.45 - 7.30pm for 10-13 year olds. Cost is £4 per session (£3 for Maccabi members).
 
Teen Krav Maga
We offer Teen classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, please see the below timetable for times. Classes are tailored to the ages of the students and to the methods most useful to teenage street situations.

Juniors (5-9)  Wednesdays 6.00 - 6.45pm - £4 Class almost full*

Juniors (10-13)Wednesdays 6.45 - 7.30pm - £4

Girls  (12-15) Wednesdays 6.30 - 7.30pm - £5 Class almost full*

Boys   (12-15) Mondays    8.30 - 9.30pm - £5 Class full

 

* Please contact us if you wish to attend a class as there are limited places in many cases. Please complete the below Enquiry Form with details of which class you would like to attend. Thank you.

 

** Note that the Senior Krav Maga class was extended to 90 minutes last year, although the price was held. It is now out of line with other sessions so the price will increase to £6 from 1 March. All proceeds go to the club which is a registered charity. As our instructors are volunteers you can be sure that all subs go to the running of the club.

BACKGROUND TO KRAV MAGA
Krav Maga was created by advanced martial arts exponent Imi Lichtenfeld for the Israeli Army in 1948. Maccabi's Krav Maga instructors have been involved in KM since 1984. For more information see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imi_Lichtenfeld and see our About Krav Maga page.
 
Imi Lichtenfeld (1910-1998) "That one may walk in peace"
 
Krav Maga is Hebrew for "Contact Combat" and is a style of self defence designed initially for the Israeli Army and later developed for civilian use. It's methods are straightforward and intended to be quick and easy to learn. There are no Katas (Forms) and all aspects of a class focus on defensive methods for street situations. The philosophy is simple. In the event of an attack students are trained to "Engage, Disengage and Escape" in the shortest possible time.
